Meet Your Photographer

I'm Chris Davis. I'm a sports and senior portrait photographer in Rosenberg, Texas, and every session I shoot is built around the person in front of the camera. No template packages. No volume model. No cookie-cutter shoots that look like the last ten that came before them. The athlete or senior I'm photographing today is not the one I photographed last weekend, and the work should reflect that.

I came to photography the long way around. I'm an athlete first. Tennis, golf, football, soccer, track, basketball, all-conference center fielder in baseball, and a martial artist for more than 35 years. Seven national titles of my own. More than 50 athletes I've coached to national titles of their own. I'm 50 years old and I'm still training, still teaching, still competing. That background is the spine of how I see and direct the people in front of my camera. I read movement because I've lived it. I know where the play is going because I've been in it.

What that means for you is simple. You get a session shaped around who you actually are, not a formula. The competitor in their element and the human in their everyday life. Both sides of the same person. You also get someone who responds quickly, prices clearly, plans the shoot honestly, and turns the gallery around fast. The senior year and the athlete journey move quickly enough on their own. The photography part shouldn't add to the noise.

I work across the southwest Houston corridor. Katy, Fulshear, Richmond, Sugar Land, Cinco Ranch, Pearland, Missouri City, and the greater metro. I know the schools, the teams, the coaches, and the culture. If you're looking for someone who'll show up, see your athlete or senior for who they really are, and give you photos you'll actually love, that's the work I do.

How We Work

Every session starts with a video call. Not a form. Not a price sheet. A real conversation where we figure out who you are, what you want, and what kind of shoot actually fits the person in front of the camera.

From there, we build it out together. A shared mood board. Locations picked around your personality, not pulled from a template. Wardrobe and styling shaped by what came out of that first call. You bring the vision. We bring the guidance.

On session day, we book one client. That's it. No back-to-back schedule, no rushing you out so the next family can load in. One to two hours on average, longer if the shoot calls for it. Music playing. Parents welcome. We guide the posing and the movement so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.

For athletes, we capture controlled action. Real athletic motion, staged and lit so the moment looks live but every detail is intentional. Game face and everyday self in the same body of work, if that's what fits you.

After the shoot, we handle the editing, then sit down together for an in-person reveal and ordering session. Prints, albums, wall art, digital files. Most clients have everything in hand within four to six weeks. You hear from us at every stage.

That's the whole process. Built around you, start to finish.

Why Us

Every session is built around the person in front of the camera. That sounds simple, but it's the thing most photographers skip. We start with a real conversation. We plan together. We shoot one client a day. And we end up with photos that look like you, not like a template someone ran you through.

Built around you, not a package. Every session starts with a video call and a shared mood board. Locations, wardrobe, pacing, vibe, all shaped around who you actually are. No menu to pick from.

One client a day. No back-to-back schedule. No rushing you out so the next family can load in. Your session gets the time it needs.

Both sides of you in the same body of work. The polished version and the real one. The action and the in-between. We capture range, not a single look.

A perspective most photographers don't have. I've spent a lifetime as an athlete and a coach. Seven national titles. More than fifty athletes coached to titles of their own. That experience shapes how I read a person, direct a session, and capture movement and emotion, whether you're a senior, an athlete, or someone who's never picked up a ball in your life.

A neighbor, not a stranger. I'm not a name on a website you'll never see again. I'm someone you'll recognize down the road. The relationship doesn't end when the gallery delivers.

What Our Clients Say

I researched probably ten photographers before I found Mike. What sold me was the discovery call. He actually wanted to know who my daughter was before he ever picked up a camera. By the time we got to the session, the mood board was hers, the locations made sense, and she walked in feeling like the whole thing was already built around her. The photos are everything I wanted and a few things I didn't know I wanted. I'll be using him again for my son in two years.

— Jennifer M., Katy

My son has done team photos and sideline shots his whole career. This was the first time he'd done a real shoot built around him as an athlete and as a person. Mike gets it because he's lived it. The action shots look like he's actually playing, not posing. And the everyday shots caught a side of my kid I don't usually get to see in photos. Worth every dollar. We've already booked his signing day.

Frequetly Asked Question

How does the booking process actually work?

It starts with a video call over Google Meet. We get to see each other, talk through what you're looking for, and figure out if we're the right fit. Pricing gets covered on the call and again in writing afterward. If you want to move forward, a session fee locks in your date. Products and images are purchased separately after the shoot.

FAQ image

How do you plan the session?

Everything is built off the discovery call. Locations, wardrobe, vibe, all of it shaped around the person being photographed. We use a shared mood board on Milanote so you can drop in ideas, react to mine, and we're working from the same vision before shoot day. It's a real collaboration. Your ideas, our guidance.

FAQ image

How long does a session take and who comes with me?

One to two hours on average. We only book one client a day, so if the shoot needs more time, it gets more time. We bring music, walk you through every pose and movement, and keep the energy easy. Nerves are normal. The discovery call is part of why they fade fast on shoot day. Parents are welcome and usually involved.

FAQ image

What kind of athlete shots do you capture?

Controlled action. Real athletic movement, staged and lit so it looks live but every detail is dialed in. Not sideline photography. Not stiff posed portraits. The shot looks like the play, but the lighting, angle, and timing are all intentional. We can also capture the everyday side of you in the same session if that fits what you're after.

What happens after the shoot?

Professional editing first, then we sit down together for an in-person reveal and ordering session. Prints, albums, wall art, digital files, and some promotional pieces depending on what fits. Most clients have everything in hand four to six weeks after the session. You hear from us at every stage.
